Our Health Sciences Magnet is a schoolwide program at the O. All Overlea students benefit from many program initiatives like health/wellness integration in their core classes, physical activity or movement during class with the use of our bike desks, emphasis on mindfulness and self-care strategies, and guest speakers from a variety of healthcare fields.

In addition, Overlea offers two unique CTE pathways with the Academy of Health Professions - Dental Assistant and Physical Rehabilitation Therapy Assistant. Students who participate in these pathways have an opportunity to earn industry certification and participate in internships during high school. Overlea is the only school in Baltimore County Public Schools to offer these CTE pathways.

Students who choose to participate in either of these CTE pathways, they will take 4 years of AHP classes. If students earn an average of a B or better in these courses when they graduate, they are eligible to earn 12 credits from CCBC! See the BCPS/CCBC Articulation below. This is a great opportunity for our students.
